Based in Melbourne Australia, Surreal World is a content creation company founded in 1997 by award-winning artist, composer and animator, John Francis.
From beginnings creating award-winning animated shorts and music clips, the studio has invested extensively in a development slate of live action adventure and animated film and TV projects and exploring the cinematic possibilities of stereoscopic 3D.
Although captivated by the limitless potential of the computer-based canvas, the studio´s aesthetics are grounded by the traditional disciplines of illustration, sculpture and the performing arts. Surreal World has created visual solutions for hundreds of projects such as TV commercials, music clips, print media and to date, three theatrically released feature films.
From creating characters and creatures to expanding sets or giving shots a sense of wonder, Surreal World is also available for professional services to create exceptional and affordable state-of-the-art imagery for film, television, print and emerging entertainment media projects.

The work of John Francis and Surreal World really speaks for itself.
However it may help to know a little about the person behind this
outstanding body of work. Based in Melbourne, Australia, award
winning animator, film maker, artist and composer John Francis,
established Surreal World in 1997 creating animated short films
and music clips. Since then, John has put his considerable skill
and unique expertise to work, writing and developing feature film
and TV projects. His work includes visual effects and animation for
hundreds of projects including television commercials for global
clients such as Coca Cola, Kelloggs, Duracell and Hewlett Packard
to name just a few. John’s work has also featured in numerous
Australian feature films. Although John’s work is out of this world,
his approach to his work and his prices are very down to earth.
Whether it’s for film, television, publishing, print, online or any medium,
John constantly surprises and delights his clients with outstanding work
they could never have imagined and never thought they could afford.
